With three albums to its name, Grèn Sémé reinvents Réunion’s maloya through poetic, organic and decidedly danceable music. Led by Carlo De Sacco’s voice and socially engaged lyrics, the quintet blends electronic maloya, African pop and the triple rhythms of the Indian Ocean to create a unique sound. With its EP Maloya Gazé (2024), the group reveals the sunny side of the Creole ensemble through danceable, revitalizing and organic music suited to remixes and the dance floor. Three explosive remixes by Voilaaa, La Dame and Guiss Guiss Bou Bess extend the dance-floor experience. On stage, Grèn Sémé delivers an intense, unifying and deeply vibrant performance, blending rock poetry, dub grooves and Creole trance.
