On October 5, 2021, Manuelle Légaré arranges the death of her father, comedian Pierre Légaré, who had chosen medical assistance in dying. Armed with audio archives and her researcher's instincts, she begins an investigation: how did Quebec become the world leader in euthanasia? Ten years after legalization, have we moved away from its original purpose? On stage, past and present intertwine to raise questions left unspoken. Blending humour, tenderness and existential uncertainty, Club sandwich mayonnaise transforms grief into a space for collective reflection on our convictions, taboos and discomfort surrounding planned death—and on what it truly means to “die with dignity.” Editor-in-chief of Tout le monde en parle and an experienced producer, Manuelle Légaré takes to the stage for the first time in this Porte Parole production. Written by Manuelle Légaré, the play is directed by François Bernier, who also collaborated on the text, with dramaturgy by Mathieu Gosselin. The cast features Sylvie De Morais-Nogueira, Manuelle Légaré, Alice Pascual and Martin-David Peters.
