Early in the morning, a snail chews one last leaf before retreating into its shell. Nearby, a rose basks in the sun, enjoying the cool morning air. The garden and its inhabitants come joyfully to life. Suddenly, a fierce wind rises and threatening shadows crash across the sky. The storm passes and the garden recovers, but something strange has caught on the rosebush’s thorns. With humour and gentleness, we are drawn into a garden’s tiny world of insects and flowers, where everyone has a role to play. Two storytelling elves bring this suspended garden to life. Very loosely inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s philosophical tale The Snail and the Rosebush and his garden tales, the show invites reflection on our relationship with nature and community. For children ages 3 to 8 and their accompanying adults. A Théâtre Ciel Ouvert production.
