The Gatineau Symphony Orchestra launches its season with a striking soundscape in which orchestral power and vocal virtuosity intertwine with flair. Immortalized by 2001: A Space Odyssey, Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra opens this festive season in grand style. Then, at the heart of the emotion, Orff’s Carmina Burana ignites Salle Odyssée: a dazzling incantation in which the wheel of fortune carries destinies toward a luminous rebirth, driven by a profoundly human breath of hope. Featuring Outaouais-born coloratura soprano Natacha Demers, tenor Mishael Eusebio, baritone Hugo Laporte, the Ottawa Children’s Choir conducted by Rober Filion, and the OSG Choir under the direction of Antonio Llaca, this opening concert sets the tone for a season centered on emotion.
